Sisterhood is the right arm of the Synagogue. We furnish the kitchen (which is completely remodeled!!) and keep it running smoothly. We make sure that Shabbat luncheons are served, and we sponsor several events during the year, like the Latke Party, the Purim Hot Dog Supper, and more. Etz Chayim’s kitchen, as well as the rest of the building, follows the Conservative movement’s laws of Kashrut.
We have monthly luncheons, business meetings, educational programs, and fundraisers. Our major fundraiser is a community New Year Greeting and Memorial Book, which includes a member directory. The Sisterhood also greets new Synagogue members and strives to make them feel welcome.
Many of us don’t have family here locally, so we in the Sisterhood try to create a family atmosphere for all our congregants. Use the contact form to request additional information from Sue, our Sisterhood president.
