My husband and I were invited to a Bat Mitzvah and the reception. Although the invitation was addressed to only us, the parents, does this mean that the kids are invited or not?
Great question and very simple answer. If the kids are not on the invitation, then they are not invited to the service, luncheon, dinner etc…This rule also applies to weddings, showers, and any other type of celebrations. Hosts have many reasons for this. A few reasons could be they lack the funds for the extra people, they lack the space or they really just don’t want kids who may be a distraction to the event. Whatever the case, do not take it personally. Enjoy your time alone.
